Date and place

The NZ Championships weree held on September 28-29 at Tamatea High School, 61 Freyberg Ave, Tamatea, Napier.

Cost
$20 for all divisions.
Registration started
9am on Saturday
Play started
9:30am on Saturday and Sunday

Play - and other events - ends approximately 6pm on both days.


Format

The main tournament will be a 5 round Swiss. 

There may be a beginners section and there may be a 9x9 mini tournament. - Please let the organisers know if you are interested in these.

Rewards

There will be cash prizes - and whatever else the organisers can scrape up :-).   WAGC points will also be there for winning.

Accommodation

The organisers can look after some people, so if you are travelling and need a place to stay, try them first. If there are many of you, or you like motel life, the Deco city motor lodge is recommended: 308 Kennedy Rd, Onekawa 4110. Phone:06-843 4342

Food and drink

Lunches will be provided. We'll have dinner together on Saturday evening at a Chinese restaurant.


We are expecting to have a professional player visiting to help, to teach, to play simultaneous games and so on.


Playing Go is always good. John Chen is renowned for his hospitality. Napier in the Spring is a beautiful place. Holidays are always good. With all these reasons to come you have no excuse.  See you there in September!
