Graeme Parmenter has been a prominent member of the New Zealand Go community for some decades, serving as NZGS President for several years and making major contributions to the main pages of the official website since 2007.

At level (4 dan), he came 37th out of 66 contesting the 2006 Korea Prime Minister Cup.

He was the main organiser of the 2013 Otago Open.
